Lightbox Readograph Signage For London Cinema

Few things say “cinema!” more than a bulb-studded, six-foot-tall lightbox across a building. In sign-making, these iconic signs are called readographs. In warm white lighting with a background of black stripes on the front facade of movie theatres, light boxes just ooze old Hollywood glamour.

Over the past few decades, we’ve designed, produced and installed a wide variety of commercial cinema lightboxes throughout London. The main difference nowadays our customers tend to prefer LED lighting for their cost and energy efficiency. We recently had the pleasure of manufacturing a bespoke sign fascia for Genesis Cinema, Mile End Road, London, to advertise their latest film showings.

Design and Manufacture of Theatre Signs

This cinema sign project included the manufacture and installation of an LED illuminated lightbox of 15 metres x 1.2 metres (including a bow-fronted section) with interchangeable clip-on acrylic letters. Each letter was CNC moulded by our expert team in Graffiti Design’s factory.
